YEREVAN, January 23. / ARKA /. Fourteen people have died in road accidents in Armenia since the beginning of the year, the chief of traffic police, Norik Sargsyan, told a news conference today.
He added that 217 people have received injuries of varying severity during the first three weeks of the year. According to him, 142 road accidents have been reported as of today.
‘These figures indicate a decline in the number of victims. Thus, the number of fatalities decreased by 6 if compared to the same time span last year," he said.
He said the goal is to reduce the number of victims by 10% in the next five years. He said also 50 roadside speed cameras will be installed this year in Yerevan and beyond it. .-0-
