GIS to be installed at Khosrov preserve in Armenia – minister
YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s ministry of environment is planning to install GIS in Khosrov Preserve, head of the ministry Aramayis Grigoryan said in summarizing the results of his first 100 days as a minister.
The system will allow to watch closely the status of the preserve while comparing the real situation with the database, Grigoryan said. The ministry intends to involve international donors for the project, he said. No exact amount was specified yet.
Khosrov Preserve was established back in IV century by Armenian king Khosrov. It is located in the southern part of Geghama Range in Ararat region and was granted a preserve status in 1958. About 70 Red List threatened species from the live today in Khosrov forest. The preserve is of both great natural and historical value. –0--
