The Armenian government has approved today a new strategy for reproductive health designed for 2016-2020 and a program of relating actions.

YEREVAN, June 23. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today a new strategy for reproductive health designed for 2016-2020 and a program of relating actions.

Health minister Armen Muradyan noted that the main purpose of the strategy is to improve the quality and accessibility of reproductive health-related medical services and boost the birth rate.

According to him, the previous strategy developed for 2006-2016 allowed to cut maternal mortality rate by 23%, to lower also the premature termination of pregnancy rate by 17% and the perinatal mortality rate among seven day-old babies by 4 per one thousand. The minister said the new strategy will carry on this dynamic. -0-
