Government considers public welfare homes for everyone, Armenian minister of labor says
YEREVAN, February 26. /ARKA/. Armenian government considers construction of public welfare homes not only for the poor, but everyone who needs it, the country’s minister of labor and social issues Artem Asatryan said.
The minister stressed the importance of public welfare homes.
The government is now taking up the issue, the minister told a press conference “Public welfare and affordable homes in Armenia: challenges and opportunities”.
Asatryan said that construction of public welfare homes has already started in Maralik of Armenia.
“This is our pilot project and that is why we attach importance to similar international experience”, the minister said.
Armenian government earmarked 11.388mln drams for a public welfare homes project in Maralik in August 2012. Earlier, Armenian premier Tigran Sargsyan said that a couple of other buildings will be used as public welfare homes for children from socially vulnerable backgrounds in Maralik.
