Government raises all pensions by 3,000 drams
YEREVAN, Sept. 1. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a government session today that the government has revised its earlier decision whereby from September 1, 2022 the pension of 97.5% of pensioners was to increase by at least 3,000 drams, the pension of 6,400 pensioners by 2,500 drams, and the pension of 5,300 by 1,900 drams.
Pashinyan said the government decided that from September 1, all pensions will be increased by at least 3000 drams.
According to Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan, in order to give a more institutional solution to the problem and not to cause misunderstandings with the formula defined by the law, it was decided to increase the basic pension to 31,600 drams, which will enable to raise the pensions of all pensioners by at least 3,000 drams.
As a result of the changes, the average pension is expected to increase by 3,100 drams up to 44,300 drams, the military pension - by 5,500 drams up to 82,750 drams. -0-
