YEREVAN, April 14. / ARKA /. The gross median wage in Armenia in February 2014 amounted to 156,653 drams ($381 or 13, 435 Russian rubles), up 0.5 % from January, the National Statistical Service said.
In January the median gross wage was 155,940 drams, which was 20.1 % less than in December 2013 and 7% more than in January 2013.
The highest average monthly gross wage in January 2014 was reported in the southern region of Syunik, where it was 188,300 drams and the least -paid jobs were in Aragatsotn region - about 109,900 drams. In Yerevan, it was 169,900 drams.
The highest paying sectors were financial and insurance companies with 339,800 drams average gross wage, followed by IT and communications - about 334,500 drams and the mining industry - about 306,500 drams.
The lowest paid jobs were in culture, entertainment and leisure sectors – 88,600 drams, agriculture, forestry and fishing – 96,300 drams and catering and services– 100,600 drams. ($ 1 - 415.44 drams). -0-
