YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. Haypost (Armpost), the national post operator of Armenia, released today a one-stamp postal block dedicated to the 80th anniversary of civil aviation, the company’s press office reports.
An airplane ready for takeoff is depicted on the stamp. A logotype symbolizing the anniversary is in the top left corner. There is also the building of Zvartnots International Airport and an aircraft of 1930s and 1940s on the stamp.
The stamp designed by Juan Pablo Gechidjian and Vahagn Mkrtchyan has been printed in 20,000 copies by France's Cartor printing office.
The year of Armenian aviation's birth is considered 1933, when the first national air club was established. In the same year, the first flight Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan was operated. ---0----
