YEREVAN, January 8. /ARKA/. The South-Caucasus Railway CISC has carried more than 7,100 passengers during New Year holidays, i.e. over a period between December 26 and January 7, the company’s press office reports.
Some 1,226 people have been transported by the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan train.
Other 5,900 have traveled by commuter trains to destinations inside the country. Of them, 5,200 were carried by Yerevan-Gyumri-Yerevan trains. In the first days of 2014 demand for commuter trains was very high.
In its press release, the company says again that it remains steadfast in improving its services and enhancing comfort in trains.
South Caucasus Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway, which was handed over to the South Caucasus Railway on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years. ---0---
