Number of Armenia’s population grows 0.23% in nine months to 3.28mln people by October 1
YEREVAN, November 2. /ARKA/. Number of population grew by 0.23% by October 1, 2012, and totaled 3 million 282 thousand people in Armenia by October 1, 2012, the country’s National Statistical Service reported.
Urban population was 2,101,200 people in the country as of October 1, 2012; rural population totaled 1,180,800 people.
According to the official statistics, the greatest number of population is recorded in the capital – 1,131,500 people. Vayots Dzor with 56,100 residents is the least populated region of the country.
Shengavit is the most populated community of Yerevan (149,600 people) followed by Nor-Nork (149,500), Malatia-Sebastia (143,400), Kentron (132,000) and Arabkir (130,100). -0-
