The employment agency says there were 64,900 jobseekers as of the beginning of June, a reduction of 6.5% compared to the same period of 2013. Of them 46,600 were women and 15,800 were young men.

In general, 16.2% of Armenia’s active population is unemployed, the agency says.

There are vacancies in all fields and highly-skilled specialists are demanded, but the number of unemployed is not reduced as low salaries are offered, Mangasaryan said.
