OSCE secretary general hands €10,000 donation to Muratsan hospital

On Wednesday, OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier handed €10,000, raised at an annual charity ball in Hofburg Palace in Vienna, to Yerevan State Medical University’s Muratsan Hospital, ARKA correspondent reports.

YEREVAN, July 11. /ARKA/. On Wednesday, OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier handed €10,000, raised at an annual charity ball in Hofburg Palace in Vienna, to Yerevan State Medical University’s Muratsan Hospital, ARKA correspondent reports. 

OSCE officials and member countries’ representatives attended the event. 

Zannier arrived today in Yerevan for a tree-day visit at Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan’s invitation, the foreign ministry’s press office reports. 

Zannier said that Andrey Sorokin, head of the OSCE office in Yerevan, has attracted his attention to Muratsan Hospital’s activity, and the OSCE demonstrates appreciation of the hospital personnel’s work by providing this financial assistance. 

Samvel Avetisyan, acting head of Yerevan State Medical University, on his side, said that one year ago the OSCE’s office in Yerevan, donated €5,000 to Muratsan Hospital that is specialized in treating children with cancer and hematological diseases. He said the donated money made it possible to improve the diagnosing process and to enhance effectiveness of treatment. 

Hayk Darbinyan, the first deputy health minister, said that precious is not only the donated money, but also moral aspect of this donation – assistance to children. M.V.-0---
