YEREVAN, December 9. /ARKA/. A total of 61 million 146,000 drams was raised at a traditional charity auction held by Ameria Group of Companies Friday.
The auction was entitled Grapes Is Life and has demonstrated grapes wines from the best manufacturers, delicate cognacs, wines, champagne and armagnac from different countries. A wine tasting was held as part of the auction.
The wine auction alone collected 27 million 100,000 drams, and donations totaled 3 million 473,000 drams, hence the total amount raised was 30 million 573,000 drams.
As usually, Ameria Group of Companies has doubled the funds raised during the auction. The funds will be used to help 17 children are registered at “Give a Present of Life”, “Let’s Help Armenian Children” and “Children without Pain” funds and “Echo” non-governmental organization.
Donations are still welcomed on a charity account number, 1570036910764400, at Ameriabank.
The previous auction funds and donations, including those by Ameria GC staff amounted to a total of almost 100 million drams (about 248,000 dollars) over the year, which was spent on treatments of 22 children.
Exclusive drinks, including 70-year-old ARARAT Noyan Tapan, Pian dell Vigne (2008), Tignanello (2010), Madera (1877), Cristal rose Vintage (2005) and other special ones will be demonstrated at the auction. Some of the drinks have been specially delivered to Armenia. The event will be attended by a representative of Antinori wine-makers’ family, a professional sommelier from Riddle wine glass producer and prominent experts.
Ararat Cognac Factory and Pernod Ricard Armenia, NOY wine and brandy factory, Arteksim, Armagnac Delord, Chateau Ararat Vineyard, Avers, Andako companies and In Vino shop have presented their best products at the auction, according to the report.
It is the fourth consecutive year Ameria Group of Companies gathers the business community together to raise funds for supporting children who struggle to survive. The funds will be spent on treatment of children with cancer and blood diseases, idiopathic arthritis and other diseases requiring prompt care.
