Ruben Jaghinyan appointed as member of Armenian public Tv company’s board
YEREVAN, March 1. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed today a decree appointing Ruben Jaghinyan, head of Sharm Holding LLC a member of the Armenian Public TV Company’s board for a six-year term, the president’s press office reports.
Before the decree was issued, the tender commission established by the president’s order discussed the applications of two aspirants for this vacancy – Ruben Jaghinyan and Astghik Avetisyan, president of Armenian PR scientific and information association and approved both applications.
The term of the Alexan Harutyunyan, head of the TV company’s board, in office expired on February 1.
Under the Armenian law, candidacies approved by the tender commission are presented to the country president, who appoints one of them as a member of the board. Later, the board members elect their chairman.
Ruben Jaghinyan was born in 1969 in Yerevan. He graduated from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1994.
Between 2005 and 2009 Ruben was the head of the Yerevan magazine project. From 1991 till now he was CEO of Sharm Holding LLC. Jaghinyan is a member of the International Academy of Television and Radio and a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia.
Ruben is author and producer of some projects and TV programs.
He had been awarded with Garegin Nzhde and Movses Khorenatsi medals as well as the culture ministry’s medal and the Armenian president’s prize for contribution to arts.
