YEREVAN, October 9. /ARKA/. A number of Yerevan streets will be temporarily closed for traffic in connection with the celebration of 2795th anniversary of the Armenian capital, the Traffic police reported.
In particular, traffic will be blocked from 10:00 to 23:00 on October 11 at the square adjoining Erebuni Museum and nearby streets.
The next day from 08:30 to 23:00 the following streets and crossroads will be closed for traffic in the downtown of Yerevan: streets leading to Republican Square, Sayat-Nova – Teryan, Sayat-Nova – Abovyan, Sayat-Nova – Nalbandyan, Vardanants – Tpagrichneri, Tumanyan-Hanrapetutyan, Arami-Hanrapetutian, Biuzand-Hanrapetutian, Ayrarat Theatre – Agatangeghos – Khorenatsi, Grigor Lusavorich – Italian, Grigor- Lusavorish – Beirut st, Lusavorich – Zakyan, Haghtanak bridge, Saryan – Leo, Saryan – Amiryan, Saryan – Biuzand, Parpetsi – Pushkin and Parpetsi-Tumanyan.
On October 12 the police will close the section near the municipality from 08:30 to 16:00 and the part from Circus crossroad to Grigor Lusavorich street and from Paronyan-Leo crossroad to Lusavorish from 12:00 to 16:00.
Yerevan (Erebuni) was founded in 782 BC, 29 years before the founding of Rome, by the king of Urartu Argishti in the south-east of the Armenian Highland. A stone plate with cuneiform, which bears the date of the founding of the city is in Erebuni museum. -0-
