YEREVAN, October 14. /ARKA/. The South Caucasus Railway company took part in the “Best Yerevan” exhibition of municipal facilities held in Mashtots park in the framework of Erebuni-Yerevan – 2795 celebrations on October 12, the company’s press office reported.
The company presented the projects implemented recently, particularly the reconstruction of Yerevan central railway station and Almast roadside stop, rehabilitation of the children’s railway in Yerevan, repair works at pedestrian tunnel over the central station, and etc.
The visitors had also a chance to get familiar with the operations of the company’s transport services center and itineraries.
The exhibition showed the recent innovations in Yerevan’s municipal services and facilities, current projects and pioneering works in exterior, advertisement, management technologies and architecture.
Yerevan (Erebuni) was founded in 782 BC, 29 years before the founding of Rome, by the king of
Urartu Kingdom Argishty in the south-east of the Armenian Highland. A stone with cuneiforms bearing the date of the foundation is kept in Erebuni museum.
South Caucasus Railway cjsc is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Railways open joint stock company that is operating Armenian railways under a 30-year concession contract signed in 2008. The contract can be extended for another 10 years.–0—
