Traffic through Lars resumed – Armenian ministry of emergencies
YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. Motor road traffic through Lars was resumed on Saturday, Armenia’s ministry of emergencies reported.
Driving through the Upper Lars at Armenia-Georgia border was closed as from May 17 when a major mudslide occurred in the territory of Georgia. Eight people were lost, one of them, a South-Ossetian citizen, was found later in a local hospital, the bodies of the two others were found on Saturday. Armenian Russians Karpo Poghosov and Georgy Gevorgov are among the lost.
According to Georgian traffic department report of May 18, eleven citizens of Armenia, Gegham Asenyan, Hovhannes Irisyan, Tigran Gasparyan, Harut Harutiunyan, Eric Matevosyan, Gor Nazaryan, Karen Ghazaryan, Kristine Khachatryan, Lida Atoyan, Hovhannes Khachatryan and Narek Khacahtryan were transferred to a safe place. –0--
