Yerevan Circus building is exploded for dismantling purposes

YEREVAN, September 10. /ARKA/. The building of Yerevan Circus was exploded for dismantling purposes on Saturday, Novosti-Armenia reports.
An explosion was carried out by a group of sappers and shotfirers of Armenia’s Emergency Situation Ministry 

“The process was successful, no harm was done to the neighboring buildings ,” a head of the rescue department of Yerevan Mushegh Ghazaryan said.

According to him, the group used 60 kg of nitroglycerine. 

“We used electrical method of explosion, which was the most suitable in these conditions,” Ghazaryan added.

He added that the doctors and firemen were present during the process of explosion.

The construction of the new building will start soon, and the circus will open in October-November 2014.

“On the one hand it is a sad day for me, as I spent my whole life here, but on the other hand, it is good that Yerevan will have a modern circus meeting all world standards,” the director of Yerevan Circus Sos Petrosyan said.

He added that the spectacle seats will increase from 1563 to 2050, the height of the dome will be 21 meters instead of the previous 16.
“We will be able to organize different entertainment performances, including air ones, and finally we will have underground parking,” Petrosyan said. 

He added that the construction cost 10-20 million dollars. Tashir group is financing the project.--0--
