YEREVAN, May 14. / ARKA /. Armenia’s capital city has already 18 bicycle parking racks- ten in the downtown and eight in other districts, Ameriabank said.
The first bicycle parking rack in Yerevan was set up on April 27. The event was marked by a bike ride organized by Ameriabank under the motto "Green Way" to promote a healthy lifestyle and "green" traffic.
"The bike ride has triggered a great interest and inspired young people," the bank said in a press release.
The first 2.5 km long bike track in Yerevan stretching along the Ring Park - from Aragats café to the monument to the Armenian military leader Andranik, opened in 2012 October.
The Yerevan municipality plans to open the second bike track this year. It will run along historical and cultural monuments of the capital, including Matenadaran depository of ancient manuscripts and Erebuni archaeological museum.
