Yerevan municipality to fine ad placement law offenders

On Wednesday session’s second and final reading the National Assembly of Armenia adopted a package of amendments to the law “On advertisement” related to imposing penalty as a means of bringing law offenders to administrative responsibility.
YEREVAN, March 21. /ARKA/. On Wednesday session’s second and final reading the National Assembly of Armenia adopted a package of amendments to the law “On advertisement” related to imposing penalty as a means of bringing law offenders to administrative responsibility.
“The purpose of the bill is to manage the control over advertisement placement in Yerevan and bring law offenders to responsibility,” Kamo Areyan, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, said while presenting the bill.
Mayor of Yerevan is authorized to impose penalties on those who break the terms and conditions of outdoor advertising placement or placing it without any permit, according to him.
Areyan said advertisers, manufacturers and ad distributors will be brought to administrative responsibility and liable to pay fine in the amount of at least 100 minimum wages. ($1-388.39 drams). —0--
