YEREVAN, January 22 . / ARKA /. The Yerevan Municipality will release 4.2 billion drams this year to finance asphalting of streets and sidewalks, down from 13 billion drams released last year that were used to asphalt 2.5 million square meters of roads and sidewalks, deputy mayor Kamo Areyan, said today
He said the municipality will use also 40 million drams to build ramps for people with limited physical abilities, up from 20 million released in 2013.
Areyan said hundreds of areas in front of residential buildings were equipped with lighting, pavilions, drinking water fountains and playgrounds. He added that a similar program will be implemented this year as well.
He said last year the city authorities built 20.3 km long irrigation systems in all districts of the capital, planted 2.6 million flowers and 50 thousand trees on 850 hectares.
Areyan also said that now all sports schools, art centers, galleries and libraries have their autonomous heating systems. -0-
