Yerevan park to get 249 Chinese buses

The Government meeting on Thursday adopted the decision to present the company “Yerevan Bus” 249 Chinese buses.
YEREVAN, March 1. /ARKA/. The Government meeting on Thursday adopted the decision to present the company “Yerevan Bus” 249 Chinese buses.
Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan said that the buses have been presented to Yerevan by the Chinese side.
The company “Yerevan Bus” is within Yerevan Municipality.
According to the program of downloading the central streets of Yerevan and gradual transfer from microbuses to buses, if today 30 routes are actually operated by 30 buses, in the new network the number of routes is envisaged to increase by 16, and the number of buses - by 300 units.
By introduction of the new network it is envisaged to significantly decrease the number of microbus routes, thus reducing their number from 109 to 75.
Respectively, the number of microbuses will be less by about 800 units. The proposed new network is aimed at maximum effective operation of routes.
The working group, established with the purpose of development of new route network in Yerevan, includes representatives of transport companies within Yerevan Municipality, members of commission on management of public transport and independent experts. --0--
