YEREVAN, October 9. /ARKA/. An attacking midfielder of Russian Yekaterinburg’s FC Ural and Armenia’s national football team Edgar Manucharyan said the Armenian footballers always play better against strong teams.
“The atmosphere in the team is nice, and we set ourselves to victory only. The Italians have a very strong team, but we have proved not once, that we always play well against powerful teams. Anyways, everything will be shown on the field,” Manucharyan said after the first training prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match with the Italians on October 12 in Armenian capital Yerevan.
Referring to Novosti-Armenia’s question on the best player of “Azzurri squad,” Manucharyan answered smiling, “The whole team of Italy.”
“All players are attacking, and each of them is of a high class. It is very useful for us to play with such great players as we can gain some good experience,” Novosti-Armenia quotes Manucharyan.
If the Armenian team wants to get into the final round, it must show positive results in all home matches, and gain as many points as possible in match hosting countries, he added.
Manucharyan also added that after the painful defeat from the Bulgarians, the Armenian team made right conclusions and is ready to go forward now.
Manucharyan resumed that he is in a good physical shape, and is ready to help his teammates in the match against the Italians.
Armenia, Italy, Denmark, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Malta are listed in group B.
As of now Armenia has 3 points, Italy and Bulgaria- 4, Denmark and Czech Republic-1, Malta.
Armenia’s team bet Malta 1:0 and lost the same to Bulgaria. -0-
