YEREVAN, December 16. / ARKA /. Armenian GM Tigran Petrosyan has won Europe’s rapid chess championship’s bronze medal in Warsaw, Poland.
Petrosyan scored 9.5 points out of 11 possible. As many points were scored by Richard Rapport (Hungary) and Vladimir Malakhov (Russia), however, due to additional indicators Rapport was named champion and the silver medal was awarded to Malakhov.
Armenian GMs Gabriel Sargsyan and Zaven Andreasyan were also among the participants. Sargsyan with 8.5 points came in 12th and Andreyasyan also with 8.5 points was 26th.
Tigran Petrosyan is a two-time winner of the World Chess Olympiad (2008, 2012) with Armenia’s national team. -0-
