YEREVAN, February 8. /ARKA/. The Armenian national team will meet with the junior national in a friendly match on March 21 ahead of a World Cup 2014 qualifier versus Czech footballers, the press office of the Armenian Football Federation reported on Friday.
This decision was made after the friendly match between Armenian and Turkmen nationals scheduled for March 22 was canceled at the request received from Turkmen who asked the Armenian Football federation to postpone the match for August 14 or any other day because of changes in the schedule of the Asian Football Confederation’s Challenge Cup.
The press office of the Armenian Football Federation says that on March 19 the Armenian national will start preparing for their contest with the Czech national, which will take place at the National Stadium in Yerevan.
Armenia is in 2014 World Cup qualifying Group B along with Italy, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Malta.
Italians, with their 10 points scored in four matches, are topping the group. Bulgarian footballers have scored six points in three matches. The Czech national has scored five points in three games. The Armenian team’s three matches have brought them three points. Danish footballers enjoy three points after three matches as well. The Maltese have no points. -0-
