Aronyan wins gold on first chessboard at world championship

YEREVAN, December 6. /ARKA/. Armenian grossmaster Levon Aronyan has won a gold medal on the first chessboard in the world chess team championship in Turkey’s Antalya.

Aronyan gained six points in eight games (75% result). American Hikaru Nakamura and Ukrainian Vasily Ivanchuk were the second and the third respectively.

Armenia’s chess players were the fifth (with 11 points) in the world team chess championship. The Russian team with 15 points has become the winner of the tournament. –0—
