YEREVAN, March 25. / ARKA /. Playing with white Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian ended in a draw the game against Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria in the tenth round of the candidates chess tournament in Russian Khanty-Mansiysk.
In the same round Vladimir Kramnik of Russia lost to his country fellow Peter Svidler, Sergey Karyakin lost to Dmitry Andreykin (both Russia), the game of Viswanathan Anand (India) vs. Shahriyar Mammadyarov (Azerbaijan) ended in a draw.
After ten rounds Anand leads with 6.5 points, Aronian has 5.5 points. Karyakin, Mammadyarov and Svidler have 5 points each, Kramnik and Andreykin have 4.5 points each and Topalov has 4 points.
The winner of the candidates tournament , which ends March 30 , will fight for the chess crown against reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway. -0-
