Shalande planning to involve all players in coming friendlies
YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. The head coach of Armenia’s national football team intends to test all players gathered for drills in the forthcoming friendly matches with the UAE, Algeria and Germany.
Swiss coach Bernard Shalande headed the Armenian national recently.
‘These matches are very important to me in terms of preparation of the Armenian team for the coming World Championship 2016 qualifiers’, the head coach told a press conference.
The UAE national is quite a strong team and is a good substitute for Iraqi footballers the match with which has been cancelled, the coach said.
As to Algeria’s national, the fact that it played in a championship in Brazil proves it is strong, he said.
In speaking about Germany, Armenia’s counterpart in the third friendly, Shalande said he believes the Armenian team has a potential, and will not limit itself to defense.
Shalande also said the outcome is always important to him, but the priority in these first matches is to establish the capacity of each of the footballers.
‘But I stress, as a coach I hate defeats and always strive for a win’, Shalande said.
Armenian footballers are to face the UAE in Geneva on May 27, Algeria in Zion on May 31 and Germans in Maintz on June 6. –0--
