Tenth round of chess tournament – Aronian vs Topalov
YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. Armenian grossmeister Levon Aronian is meeting Bulgarian Veselin Topalov in a pretenders’ match in the tenth round of the chess tournament.
The other matches are Sergey Karyakin (Russia) – Dmitry Andreykin (Russia), Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) – Peter Swidler (Russia) and Vishwanathan Anand (India) – Shahriyar Mamediarov (Azerbaijan). The matches started 1pm Yerevan time.
The standing after nine rounds are: Anand – 6 points, Aronian 5 points, Kramnik, Karyakin and Mamediarov – 4.5 points each, Swidler and Andreykin – 4 points each and Topalov 3.5 points.
The winner of the contenders’ tournament will play a chess crown match against the current champion Magnus Carlsen. –0—
