YEREVAN, March 19. / ARKA /. Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) has warned citizens against downloading fake emails distributed ostensibly by Armenian government agencies, including the National Security Council, which in fact are being sent by unknown persons for criminal purposes.
It said fake e-mails offer to download and install special software which allegedly increase the level of personal computers’ security but in fact they are malicious software, which pose a real threat in terms of unauthorized access to private information.
The NSS said it undertook swift action to promptly respond to the problem and a s a result the number of malicious emails has dropped.
The NSS said that for safety reasons no government agency distributes e-mails with such proposals and therefore, users must delete such e-mails without opening them. -0-
