YEREVAN, October 4. /ARKA/. The i-Buy Campaign launched as part of Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation’s Tatev Revival Program has raised $5,000, the foundation’s press office reported on Monday.

Some 400 people have participated in this 40-day campaign.

The money donated under this program will be spent for revival of Tatev Monastery.

Every participant of the campaign could buy tickets at $10 each from www.tatev.am website and get a chance to win one of two all-expenses-paid two-week trips to Armenia for two persons.

Winners were named on Saturday. The trips were won by Vahan Vardanyan from Russia and Julia Mockley from Switzerland.

“When we thought over organization of this campaign, we were sure that those people who donate $10 for Tatev, will take care of this monastery,” the foundation’s press office quoted Zarmina Zeytuntsyan, coordinator of the fund-raising program of the foundation, as saying. “Today we can say that we have managed to involve many people in Tatev Revival Program.”

The program based on cooperation between the state and the private sectors is among Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation’s top-priority focuses.

The program’s aim is to restore and preserve Tatev Monastery, a sample of Armenian mediaeval architecture, develop the area surrounding it and make it a popular destination for tourists.

This program also includes development of infrastructures in nearby villages and construction of the longest ropeway in the world.

A 26-kilometer section of the road to the monastery will be recovered as part of this program as well.

The project costs $45 million, of which $20 million will be given by Ruben&Veronica Vardanyan and Friends Foundation.
Some 100 businessmen take part in this foundation.

The remaining money will be invested by the Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation.-0-
