Program of tourism development in southern regions of Armenia will be developed at the end of 2010 – beginning of 2011, said Executive Director of National Competitiveness Fund Bekor Papazyan to the journalists on Friday.
YEREVAN, November 12. /ARKA/. Program of tourism development in southern regions of Armenia will be developed at the end of 2010 – beginning of 2011, said Executive Director of National Competitiveness Fund Bekor Papazyan to the journalists on Friday.
For this purpose the Fund invited international consulting company AECOM to develop programs of tourism attractiveness of southern regions of Armenia.
AECOM is an international company providing services of projecting and management of construction programs in different sectors.
“This week AECOM experts got introduced to the perspectives of development of the region and will submit their proposals regarding the program”, said Papazyan.
For the development of the program the Fund allocated 80 thousand pound sterling. Its final cost will be clarified only after the development of the main plan.
Economic Director of AECOM Ben Martin said that southern region of Armenia could obtain great investment attractiveness for tourism development.
“It can be sport, study of birds, photography, hiking and any other direction for which comprehensive approach in the development of infrastructures is needed”, said Martin.
He highly appreciated the state of Goris airport which can serve as gates to the region. --0--
