Iranian hotel to be built in Yerevan in 2011

Three-star hotel construction project named “Tehran” is in the phase of negotiations, Armenian Development Agency (ADA) General Director Robert Harutyunyan informs.
YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. Three-star hotel construction project named “Tehran” is in the phase of negotiations, Armenian Development Agency (ADA) General Director Robert Harutyunyan informs.
“There is an interest for the construction of the hotel as the number of tourists from Iran is increased every year”, said Harutyunyan in the international press-center “Novosti”.
Preliminary cost of the project is $7 million. The investments of Armenian side are $1.5 million.
Currently ADA negotiates with Iranian investment company which required certain analysis of the project.
“By the results of the assessment, final negotiations will take place, after which certain design works of the hotel will start”, he said.
According to preliminary project the hotel will be built in the district Nork-Marash.
Last year over 15 thousand Iranians with their families decided to spend their two-day weekends in Armenia for celebration of Iranian holiday Novruz-Bayram.
Iranians are not only attracted by tourism in Armenia. Each year about 2 thousand Iranians study in Yerevan universities. -0-
