Armenia went up by one line in tourism rating occupying 90th place

Armenia went up by one line in the international rating of tourism market competitiveness occupying 90th place, states the survey of tourism market of 139 countries conducted by the organization “World economic forum”.
YEREVAN, March 11. /ARKA/. Armenia went up by one line in the international rating of tourism market competitiveness occupying 90th place, states the survey of tourism market of 139 countries conducted by the organization “World economic forum”.

According to the report, Armenia falls behind the all countries of the region except Iran which occupies 114th place. Armenia passes ahead only such countries as Gambia, Nicaragua, Libya, Pakistan, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe and from post-Soviet countries – Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

As for neighbor countries of Armenia, Turkey occupied 50th place (improved his positions by 6 points), Russia – 59, Georgia - 73 (left the positions unchanged) and Azerbaijan – 83rd place (went down from 76th position).

By total index among the countries of European region Armenia occupies 40th position conceding Bosnia, Herzegovina and Moldova.

Taking into account the development of these countries, they need significant investments for modernization of infrastructure necessary for the support of tourism.

By the index of normative-legal basis in the sphere of tourism Armenia occupies 58th position, by the index of business environment and infrastructure – 100th position, by the indicator of human, cultural and natural resources – 107th position.

Switzerland, German and France are within the group of three of leaders. Burundi, Angola and Chad close the list.-0-
