Armenia should conduct clear and coordinated activities for the involvement of tourists, said the head of Union of Tourism Operators of Armenia, Rector of the branch of Russian International Academy of Tourism Robert Minasyan.
YEREVAN. June 14. /ARKA/. Armenia should conduct clear and coordinated activities for the involvement of tourists, said the head of Union of Tourism Operators of Armenia, Rector of the branch of Russian International Academy of Tourism Robert Minasyan.

“Taking into account the events in the world the tourists seek new places of rest and in this context Armenia can become one of the priority directions from the point of security”, said Minasyan.

For this purpose, Armenia should establish a management body which will deal with not only regulation of tourist flows but their involvement to the country.

As perspective tourist donor-countries he mentioned Germany, Russia, Italy, Japan, China and USA.
Today only 10-20% of tourists visit Armenia via tour operators.

Activities should be conducted in external and internal markets, including development and rehabilitation of infrastructures, reconstruction of roads and establishment of favorable conditions for the development of tourism in the regions of Armenia.

“Support is needed on the state level, particularly organization of privileged rest for pensioners, invalids and youth”, he said. According to the data of Armenian National Statistic Service, tourist flow increased by 22.1% in January-March 2011 in Armenia compared with the indicator of the same period of 2010 making 113 515 people. The number of Armenian tourists leaving Armenia increased by 27.6% to 116 068 people. --0--
