Almost half a million Armenians traveled to Georgia in first half of 2014
YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. About 486,500 tourists from Armenia traveled to Georgia in the first half of 2014.
Georgia’s tourism department says number of Armenian tourists rose by 5% compared to the same period of the year before. Armenia is the third in the list of countries with biggest number of tourists traveling to Georgia in the period. Turkey is the first with 658,800 tourists and Azerbaijan is the second with about 534,900 tourists who visited Georgia in the first half of the year.
Apart from this, in the reporting period Georgia hosted 298,500 Russians and about 61,800 Ukrainians as tourists.
According to Georgia’s tourism department, a total of 2,243,362 tourists visited the country in January-June 2014, an increase of 2% compared to the same period of the year before. –0—
