“Armavia” will cooperate with Russian tour operator “Yerevan Travel”
YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. National air carrier of Armenia “Armavia” and Russian tour operator “Yerevan Travel” has signed on February 5 an agreement on strategic cooperation, press-service of the company “Yerevan Travel” informed ARKA News Agency.
The agreement was signed by the President of “MIKA Holding”, owner of “Armavia” Mikhail Baghdasarov and the President of “ODAK Group”, General Director of “Yerevan Travel” Hovhannes Khachatryan.
The agreement expresses the desire to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in all the suitable areas between “Armavia” and “Yerevan Travel” which is the leader in sales of travel services.
With the purpose of increasing the volumes of sale of air tickets and travel services in Armenia, decision was carried out to use all interrelated mechanisms of marketing, being at the disposal of the two organizations.
According to the agreement, fr om March 2012 “Armavia” plans to disseminate among the air passengers the journal “Armenia Tourist” for free. The company “Yerevan Travel” will deal with publication issues jointly with National Tourism Committee of Armenia.
Baghdasarov said that unification of technological and organizational opportunities of the two companies will allow to achieve new results.
Khachatryan said that tourist flow in 2011 in Armenia exceeded the indicator of 2010 by 18 %.
He said that the company plans to make this indicator 35 % by the end of 2012 and transport by “Armavia” flights more than 80% of tourists.
“Russia is the reliable tourism market for Armenia”, said Khachatryan.
National air carrier of Armenia “Armavia” was established in 1996. In 2005 the complete package of shares moved to the President of “MIKA Lim ited” Mikhail Baghdasarov - one of the largest entrepreneurs in Armenia.
Today “Armavia” makes more than 100 flights by over 40 directions to 20 countries of the world. At present, the park of the company consists of aircrafts Airbus, CRJ, Boeing, as well as Russian planes of new generation Sukhoi Superjet.
The company “Yerevan Travel” is an international tour operator in Russian Federation which is the sub-division of “ODAK Group”. The company works in the market since May 2005 demonstrating annual growth of tour sales to Armenia in average by 20% . More than 200 tour agencies in Russia work with “Yerevan Travel”. -0-
