Bridge tourism development initiative announced in Armenia

The head of the Armenian Monuments Awareness Project (AMAP) NGO Richard Nye announced Friday in Yerevan the launch of a new tourist initiative called "Bridges", designed for economic and cross-border development of Armenia and eastern regions of Turkey.
YEREVAN, November 7. / ARKA /. The head of the Armenian Monuments Awareness Project (AMAP) NGO Richard Nye announced Friday in Yerevan the launch of a new tourist initiative called "Bridges", designed for economic and cross-border development of Armenia and eastern regions of Turkey.
"This program encourages creation of a network of Armenian and Turkish operators, facilitates the identification of regional and cross-border tourism potential and promotes the region as an attractive tourist destination," said Nye.
"By saying region we mean a territory called" Historical Armenia ", which includes Van, Erzurum, Ani, Kars, Mush, Diyarbakir. Our Turkish partners support the extension of the program to the city of Gaziantep in Turkey, which is located on the territory of historical Cilicia,” said Nye.
"Also, we will advertise the program by using the electronic journal. We will be offering packages to tour operators, as well as foreign press photographers,” said Nye.
