YEREVAN, December 10. /ARKA/. A total of 677,906 tourists visited Armenia from January to September 2013, head of tourism department of Armenia’s ministry of economy Mekhak Apresyan told reporters Tuesday.
It is by 12.4% higher from the last year level, Apresyan said.
A total of 843,330 tourists visited Armenia throughout 2012, which is 11.3% higher from the 2011 level.
It is mainly tourists from Russia, Georgia, Iran, USA and Europe traveling to Armenia, but geography is expanding from one year to another, Apresyan said.
Tourists often prefer not only well-known resorts like Tsakhkadzor, Jermuk, Hankavan and Aghveran, but also the capital and historical sights, the head of the department said. Both high service level and reasonable hotel prices attract tourists to Armenia, Apresyan said. –0--
