YEREVAN, December 24. /ARKA/. Tsaghkadzor Marriott Hotel complex opened in Armenia’s Tsakhkadzor winter resort town on Saturday. Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan was also present at the opening.
The construction period was from June 2009 till December 2012. The total investments stood at $32 million. The total area accounts to 2.9 hectares, the buildings and structures occupy 19,500 sq. m.
“This wonderful complex appeared as a result of the cooperation between two influential companies- ArmRosgazprom and Marriott International. It is unique not only in the region, but also in whole Eastern Europe, as it is the first Marriot complex located in a ski resort,” Samvel Manukyan, the director general of the complex, told reporters.
According to him, the complex has 100 rooms and a wide range of services, including a swimming pool, a tennis court, football and basketball fields, three bars, a restaurant, a tea house and a children’s zone.
The complex is equipped with the ultra-modern technology, including “HiFog” fire-fighting system, which will be used in the region for the first time, the building management system, OPERA guest reservation and service system, and modern wireless BOSCH system for simultaneous interpretation during events.
The complex was constructed in accordance with the memorandum on intentions signed between ArmRosgazprom and Marriot International on April 13, 2011.
With this complex, Armenia offers competitive tourism product and high-quality services at the international tourism market.
ArmRosgazprom is the only company dealing with import and distribution of Russian natural gas coming to Armenia from Russia via Georgia. It was established in 1997. Russian Gazprom and Armenia’s government are its shareholders. -0-
