YEREVAN, June 28. /ARKA/. World Bank is willing to support Armenia in implementation of reforms, Luca Barbone, WB regional director for Europe and the Central Asia, said Friday at his meeting with Tigran Sargsyan, Armenian prime minister, the pres office of Armenian government reports.

Arisromene Varoudakis, head of the World Bank’s Yerevan Office, who is completing his mission in Armenia, was present at the meeting as well.

Sargsyan thanked Varoudakis for effective cooperation.

Further cooperation prospects were outlined at the meeting.

The Armenian premier stressed the necessity to diversify Armenia’s economy and create favorable investment environment in the country.

Importance of tax and customs reforms was stressed as well.

The WB delegation came to Yerevan to attend an international conference on migration and money transfers.

The World Bank will transfer $424 million to Armenia before the end of the first quarter of 2011.

The total amount of the2009-2012 partnership program is $550 million.

The World Bank has already allocated $270 million to Armenia for various programs. -0----
