YEREVAN, November 18. /ARKA/. Leasing operations in Armenia totaled AMD 6.6 billion by late September from AMD 5.8 billion in early January, Arthur Javadyan, chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia told ARKA News Agency.
He said that in late September 2009 they totaled AMD 6 billion against AMD 5 billion in late December 2008.
Javadyan said that despite leasing in Armenia is underdeveloped, some credit organizations run quite vigorous leasing activity here.
Credit organizations’ share in the country’s leasing portfolio is 73% now.
“Some of these credit organizations cooperate with international financial organizations, such as EBRD, IFC and Financial Planets”, Javadyan said.
He said that no sharp changes are expected to be seen in 2011, but financial institutions’ mood and gradual introduction of the world’s experience lay favorable ground for natural growth.-0---
