YEREVAN, November 21. /ARKA/. Armenia intends to embark on banking ombudsman institution introduction in 2008, Armenian Central Bank Chairman Tigran Sargsyan said Tuesday in Yerevan State University.
Speaking before students and professors, Sargsyan said that the draft law on banking ombudsman would be put on National Assembly’s floor in 2008.
He said that after the lawmaker’s approval the institution will be introduced in the country.
Sargsyan said that the Central Bank’s experts have already traveled to Great Britain to get familiar with British experience.
He thinks the new institution introduction will strengthen Central Bank’s prudential control.
“This will also strengthen business mandate, which envisages market participants’ control over set rules observation”, Sargsyan said. --0---
