Armenia’s State Food Safety Service, an affiliation of the Ministry of Agriuclture, said today it had foiled import of 16 kg smoked fish products from Belarus with expired shelf life.

YEREVAN, June 27. / ARKA /. Armenia’s State Food Safety Service, an affiliation of the Ministry of Agriuclture, said today it had foiled import of 16 kg smoked fish products from Belarus with expired shelf life.

The agency said the attempt was reported on June 17 at Bagratashen border checkpoint. It also said the shelf life of fish products produced by Belarusian BelRyba company, the largest in that country, expired because of a landslide in Russia on May 17 that closed the Upper Lars border crossing on Russian-Georgian border.

The border checkpoint was reopened for traffic only in mid-June. -0-
