Ameriabank’s non-cash turnover will total not less than 13-14 billion drams by the end of this year, head of retail operations at the bank Arman Barseghyan told reporters on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, July 3. /ARKA/. Ameriabank’s non-cash turnover will total not less than 13-14 billion drams by the end of this year, head of retail operations at the bank Arman Barseghyan told reporters on Wednesday.
Card business development is one of the bank’s priorities, he said adding the number of card almost doubled in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period of the last year. Non-cash transactions rose by 40%.
The bank’s card portfolio is now more than 50,000 cards. The bank is planning to raise it to more than 65,000 cards by the end of the year, which will be a 30% increase over the year.
Non-cash turnover on cards was about 4.5 billion drams in H1 2013 and reached 6.6 billion drams in the first half of 2014(44% increase), Barseghyan said. If growth rates are maintained, non-cash turnover on cards is expected to be at least 13-14 billion drams, he said.
The bank is not leading in terms of number of cards, yet is a leader on non-cash card turnover, head of development at Ameriabank Tigran Jrbashyan said.
Jrbashyan stressed the importance of their investments in Internet-acquiring and e-POS system that gives the clients an opportunity of online trading through their websites, Jrbashyan said.
Jrbashyan said the bank receives a monthly of about 10-12 applications for installation of e-POS. The bank has the widest POSD-terminal network and has been the first in non-cash payments through POS-terminals in the last three years.
The round-the-clock (24/7) service available in the bank help clients promptly settle their problems with cards, he said. The bank’s second advantage over the others in non-cash payments is the availability of online cards, according to Jrbashyan.
“We also try to support our clients in their non-cash payments abroad, which are especially important in summer vacation period”, Jrbashyan said adding there is strict monitoring in the bank that rules out the possibility of doubtful transactions.
