YEREVAN, December 5. /ARKA/. The Armenian government is preparing several more bills to tighten taxation of online casinos, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament on Wednesday, responding to an opposition MP's statement that "the authorities are providing protection to local bookmakers."
The prime minister responded by recalling that in recent years, the government has raised the tax rate on online casinos and bookmakers several times.
Online betting has also been restricted - the ability to pay with pension cards and salary cards of law enforcement officials has been blocked. However, Pashinyan considers these measures insufficient.
