YEREVAN, March 16. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation on Monday with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the press service of the Armenian government reported.

It said the two men discussed the steps taken to prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus. An agreement was reached to limit passenger traffic between Armenia and Russia for two weeks. They also agreed to help their citizens to return to their homelands. The restriction will not apply to cargo transportation.

At an extraordinary meeting on Monday, the Armenian government decided to declare a state of emergency throughout the country from 5:00 p.m. on March 16 until 09:00 April 16.

According to the latest reports, as of March 16, there were 30 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Armenia. About 300 people were isolated. The first case of coronavirus infection in Armenia was confirmed on March 1, the infected man has already recovered.

Among those infected were Armenian citizens from Iran and Italy (residents of Yerevan, Etchmiadzin and Meghri), people in contact with them, as well as one Italian citizen and a visitor from France. The vast majority of those infected, including one schoolchild, are residents of Etchmiadzin. -0-
