Armenia-based insurance companies collected 17.2 billion drams in 2015 as premiums for mandatory insurance of vehicles

Six Armenia-based insurance companies collected a total of 17.2 billion drams in 2015 as premiums for mandatory insurance of vehicles and paid 8.5 billion drams in damage compensation claims, according to ARKA news agency’s 2015 fourth quarter bulletin "Insurance companies of Armenia."
YEREVAN, March 10. /ARKA/. Six Armenia-based insurance companies collected a total of 17.2 billion drams in 2015 as premiums for mandatory insurance of vehicles and paid 8.5 billion drams in damage compensation claims, according to ARKA news agency’s 2015 fourth quarter bulletin "Insurance companies of Armenia."
Overall, the companies collected a total of 30.1 billion drams as insurance premiums and paid 13.6 billion drams in damage compensation claims.
The leading company by size of premiums collected for mandatory insurance of vehicles was Rosgosstrakh-Armenia with 5.5 billion drams. It also paid 3 billion drams in damage compensation claims.
It was followed by Ingo Armenia with 3.7 billion drams, collected as premiums for mandatory insurance of cars. It also paid 1.9 billion drams in damage compensation claims.
Nairi Insurance with 2.87 billion drams of collected insurance premiums was third. It also paid one billion drams in damage compensation claims. Sil Insurance with 1.97 billion drams and 938.7 million drams respectively was fourth, Reso with 1.89 billion drams and 959.5 million drams was fifth and Armenia Insurance with 1.18 billion drams and 633.5 million drams respectively was sixth.
Insurance companies' assets in 2015 totaled 38.8 billion drams, a decline of 2.8% from 2014; their liabilities fell by 13% to 22.58 billion drams and their capital grew by 16% to 16.2 billion drams. Their net profit surged by 71% to 2.504.1 billion drams. ($ 1 -490.73 drams). -0-
