YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. Armenian government has approved today a decision to extend the ban on exports of grain, sunflower seeds and sunflower oil to countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) for 6 months.

The ban was first set on June 29, 2023 and was to end on January 2, 2024. Today it has been extended until July 2, 2024.

The ban applies in particular to exports of wheat, barley, corn and buckwheat. Armenia imports the bulk of all these goods.

On November 1, 2023, Russia banned exports of durum wheat. The ban does not apply to EEU member countries, but on one condition that the wheat is not re-exported to third countries. -0-
