YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. The Armenia International Airports company said today it will repair the apron at the Shirak airport in Armenia’s second-largest town of Gyumri.
The apron, (part of the aerodrome's airfield for passengers to get in out of aircraft, as well as for loading and unloading luggage, mail and freight), occupying an area of 22 thousand square meters, has not been repaired since 1986. After the repair it will comply with all international standards, the company said.
"This will be an additional incentive for attracting new airlines," the company said. The company said also it will invest about 1.5 billion drams in the repair of about 17,000 square meters by 2020.
