Armenia is attractive not only in terms of its market but also as a convenient platform to enter other large markets, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said to the sixth Armenia-Diaspora forum.
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. Armenia is attractive not only in terms of its market but also as a convenient platform to enter other large markets, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said to the sixth Armenia-Diaspora forum.
To substantiate, Karapetyan referred to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which he described as ‘a 180-million market’. He said since Armenia is a member of EEU, Armenian entrepreneurs have advantages and privileges in entering this market.
In addition, he pointed out the possibility of cooperation with Iran's 80 millionth market, on the border with which Armenia is building a free economic zone. Besides, EEU is negotiating with Iran the establishment of special trading regime.
"Armenia also enjoys the GSP + program with the EU and the US, which provides an opportunity to carry out preferential supplies of Armenian products to European countries and the American market. Another agreement that Armenia and the EU will sign in November will allow Armenia to deepen this cooperation even further," Karapetyan said.
Among other advantages the prime minister mentioned the current agreement on free trade with neighboring Georgia. -0-
